Overview
The Edtech Business Development Associate (BDA) plays a pivotal role in the growth and success of an educational technology organization. This position involves developing strategic partnerships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth potential within the educational sector. The BDA will conduct market research and analysis to understand trends, competitor activities, and customer needs, ensuring the company maintains a competitive edge in a rapidly evolving market. With a focus on building lasting relationships with schools, educators, and other stakeholders, the Edtech BDA will work collaboratively with marketing and product teams to tailor offerings that meet client demands. This role demands a blend of sales acumen, educational insight, and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate the value of technology solutions in enhancing the learning experience. Ultimately, the Edtech BDA serves as a key ambassador of the organization, contributing significantly to both revenue generation and brand positioning in the education sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the education technology sector.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including educators and administrators.
- Conduct market research to analyze trends, competitors, and customer needs.
- Conducted presentations and product demonstrations for potential clients.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create targeted promotional campaigns.
- Prepare and manage sales proposals and presentations.
- Monitor and report on sales performance metrics and KPIs.
- Attend educational conferences and events to network and promote the company’s offerings.
- Work closely with product development teams to ensure offerings align with client feedback.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales deals.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and opportunities.
- Assist in training and onboarding new clients on product usage.
- Provide feedback on customer interactions and product performance to improve offerings.
- Support the development of sales tools and collateral to enhance client engagement.
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies in education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a sales or business development role, preferably in the edtech sector.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of the educational landscape and technology trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
- Experience in presentation and public speaking.
